iButton alarm typer
The iButton® Alarm Typer™ is part of the brand new iButton® Typer™ family, specially programmed to input the temperature and humidity alarms of Maxim iButtons® into an open word processing program, letting you know if any of the alarms have been triggered. This compact, water-resistant device is great for use in cold chain shipments or in other applications where keeping a close eye on temperature is important.
Simply plug the iButton® Alarm Typer™ into a USB port on your computer, open a word processing program, and hold the iButton® on the read head. There are no drivers that need to be installed, no set-up, and no product registration. The iButton® Alarm Typer™ will input the alarm information of the iButton® held on the read head where the cursor is placed in an open word processing program in the font style and size specified in the document. You can use your choice of program: Word®, Excel®, Notepad, and more.
Don’t use a QWERTY keyboard layout? Don’t worry, because iButtonLink engineers can also program the iButton® Typer™ to input the alarms in AZERTY as well.
Three LEDs line the side of the Technomelt-molded body and let you know the status of both the iButton® Typer™ and the iButton® on the read head. Red indicates that the device is powered. Yellow indicates that the device is recognized by the computer. Green indicates that the device has recognized the iButton®.
Additionally, the iButton® Alarm Typer™ can be used with any USB power source, such as a USB wall charger, and the alarms from the iButton® can be read that way. The red LED indicates that an alarm was triggered, green indicates that no alarms were triggered, and yellow indicates no alarms were set.
The iButton® Typer™ uses a micro-USB cable to connect to any computer running Windows (cable sold separately).
The iButton® Alarm Typer™ is available in HID or Serial mode. Please indicate which you would like in the "special instructions" box before checking out.
