Homechip has designed several Raspberry Pi cards, originally for our green energy supplier customers. The Raspberry Pi makes an excellent basis for either Home Automation (running Openhab) or general monitoring (running python and MQTT).
Our top end board has eight independent 1-wire ports (useful for driving any of our 1-wire devices such as thermometers), six counter inputs (useful for monitoring switch closures or meter outputs) and a real time clock for maintaining real time even in the absence of an internet connection.
Our Pi HAT boards are fully HAT compliant and self configuring. They deliver one 1-wire port (which is of course capable of connecting many devices simultaneously) and also the six counter ports and the real time clock available on the larger board.
We supply python libraries to make access to the board simple.
